He received a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas at Austin, where he also wrote and directed two short films and was a Life and Arts reporter at The Daily Texan, the largest student-run news outlet in the United States. 

Thomas has experience writing screenplays, feature articles, interviews, reviews, and short stories. He has interviewed Grammy and Emmy-award winning artists and has won multiple awards for his films and written works.
